After rail traffic ended, the city of Loudéac wanted to reclaim its railway brownfield sites to reconnect the town centre with its western neighbourhoods. This project proposed a process for gradually accompanying changes to the existing landscape, slowly forming a vast park containing both the cycle route and the youth centre, which is housed in the former train station. The strategy proposed a range of options for redeveloping the associated brownfield sites given the overall economic context. The aim was to consider a range of potential tangible actions to be taken in a scenario of degrowth. This urban planning process supports the idea of a new urban metabolism that benefits future residents of the district and beyond, radiating throughout the territory. #cut
